Beed’s Lake Concessions

The concessions area is located on the south side of the lake.  It is normally open for business 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  during the summer months.

Boats are available for rent by the hour.

  • Five two passenger paddle boats
  • Two four passenger paddle boats
  • Four fishing boats
  • Three kayaks

There is live bait for the fishermen, (minnows, worms, leeches) as well as some basic tackle.

Some camping and picnic supplies are also available at the concession stand.  Snack foods, charcoal, lighter fluid, firewood, and other small items.

Thanks to all those who stopped by the concession stand this summer.  The concession stand will be closed until next season. Reopening is tentatively scheduled for the middle of May 2012.

Fishing Conditions

From the DNR report:  Ice thickness is 8 to 12 inches. Bluegills are biting on wax worms.

We have local reports that confirm that.

TWITTER

We were using TWITTER to keep our friends updated on changes at the concession stand.  There was a lot of SPAM with content that we did not want associated with this site, so that method has been discontinued.

We tested a new method for a while, but the results were not what we had hoped for.  The RSS feed at the bottom of the sidebar is still the best way to get automatic updates.  It has only been tested on a YAHOO! page and the Thunderbird E-mail client.  It should work on any page that has the RSS feature though.

Fishing Conditions

This photo taken in January doesn’t look as though there would be much possibility for ice fishing.  We have local reports that the fish are biting though.  Some areas have refrozen and may have sufficient ice thickness for fishing, but a lot of caution is in order.
